Getting the style down means deciding things like how will the red and blue of Vincent's uniform is going to look, which objects or parts of the characters should be black white or textured. I decided not to shade in Vincent's skin even though he is tanned because it didn't look right. Instead there is more focus on making his eyes look dark and mysterious in contrast to Siegfried's bright, clear eyes. It's important that the characters have different faces and body types, as they are both blond-haired German lads who in many scenes will be wearing the same uniforms.
