Bird's eye view of Königsberg

Bird's eye view of Königsberg, inspired by a shot from Kiki's Delivery Service. The city of dreams is my favorite place to draw, I'm obsessed with the castle, which was the birth place of Friedrich the Great and had also at one time been the residence of Napoleon Bonaparte. In 1900 this city had an astonishing juxtaposition between ancient and modern, while the foundations of the city were 800 years old, and built by the Teutonic Knights, this was a city with electric cafes, public phones and airships, (30 years before any of this technology came to the UK). With some of Europe's busiest, best maintained railways and harbors, she was simultaneously cosmopolitan, yet a focal point of German culture and heritage.
