Siegfried and his Sons

Major Siegfried Isenstein fell in love with a local widow named Celandine Sneek, while stationed in Belgium during WWi. Celandine was already a mother, and alleged that the father of her young son Jojo, had been killed by Germans during the war. This did not stop her from falling in love with a German officer. Siegfried was able to keep their relationship a secret until the arrival of their child, which prompted a rushed marriage. Shortly after this, British artillery destroys the Belgian village, and the two children are orphaned.
